Pandora is great when I want to set it and forget it, despite the fact that it repeats the same damn songs over and over again. I've spent hours hitting the "don't play this song for a month" button and still never really hear a new song for that channel.
That said, GrooveShark is my new love affair. Any song any time, custom play-lists, and the interface just rocks. I really should be paying them.
Twitter is a an extreme outlier. Anyone with two synapses to rub together understands this and the implications. It really does give them a lot to blogsterbate about though.
Sorry, but that is extremely wrong. In the vast majority of cases, every bit of work you did amounts to nothing.
For every successful startup, there are thousands of failures. There is absolutely no point in wasting time on ANYTHING long term until you are sure of success, whether that be attracting a shitload of users or making a shitload of money. I learned this lesson in an extremely painful way.
Well, he was specifically asking what ELSE they can do to make money. The answer is nothing, for now, because they don't need to. He can't grasp the fact that they actually make enough money to employ 16 people.
Look people, I hate twitter as much as the next holier-than-thou hacker, but you've got to admit that, even if you can't comprehend it, twitter is here to stay and apparently actually has some real value for real people.
Yeah, I know you could implement it better in one weekend. Big fucking deal. Here's a news flash for you:
They got lucky.
Yeah, that's right. Lucky. Just like every other successful startup genius who now makes more money off of his masterblogtion than you'll ever make with your startup.
After you get over your hate/jealousy, you'll realize that this giant rolling shit-ball called twitter just got started and it's picking up a lot of shit on the way down. And by shit, of course, I'm referring to money and people.
I, for one, have chosen to stand directly in front of this massive shit-ball with arms wide open, eyes to the heavens, hoping I get swallowed up and smeared in massive amounts of shit (money and people). Well, just money really, unless by people we're talking about hot women.
I'm proud to be a twitter whore. Embrace the dark side.
