Same here. I am brown, US passport, have never had any problems reentering the US. One time I even had a full on beard, and looked very disheveled and disoriented. Ambled on in.
Just because it's UPS core business doesn't mean UPS is doing it right. Merchandising was Sears' core business. Heck, the airlines' core business is air transportation, and plenty of them have gone out of business/merged in the last few years.
Also don't forget that UPS is a union ship, with very expensive union contracts. The UPS is the largest individual employer in the Teamsters Union.
UPS and Fedex are not known for innovation. And you have to consider what level of optimization they are doing. Maybe Amazon can optimize faster/better. Even today, UPS website is dated and hard to use.
Fedex never really got Fedex Ground right.
And don't get me started on why they have to use 16 digit package tracking numbers that start with '1Z'. WTF?
What a load of shit! I have lived in LA for 15 years. Taken my share of taxis but a lot more Uber. Uber has been 98% of the time fairly priced, clean and safe. No Uber ride has ever taken twice as long as the taxi ride. If anything I had to watch the taxi driver like a hawk to make sure he didn't take the wrong exit or shoot off into a canyon to run up the bill. Good luck actually finding a taxi by the way, in LA. I hope Uber and its ilk drive taxis out of business.
I completely support what Switzerland did. If you don't want to be part of the culture you are joining, they don't have to let you in. Note that they are not expelling the girls-they are denying them citizenship. Citizenship for Switzerland means shared values.
