Ok. I haven't started going into the specifics about the protocol implementation but its about encrypting the message end-to-end. It still does not solve the problem of ownership, privacy and ads.
Having said that, If implemented we would definitely take advantage of the protocol.
Data privacy is biggest challenge of our time. Your personal data like email is owned by service provider and that data is used for things like ads you don't want.
Imagine UPS, USPS, FedEx etc reading your mails to send you ads and keeping your mails with them? Sound bizarre, right? It is to us. We believe email is your data and you should own it; not the service provider.
Imagine a email service(app) where you own the data (email data is not stored on our servers nor we have access to it once delivered), So NO ads. Your emails are securely stored with encryption. You can sync data between multiple devices. Also, there is NO storage limits.
I would love to get your honest opinion about the idea. If it make sense or if its not practical.
why not discuss your concerns with founders or to that person... some time people do work that is not tangible... adding value is vague concept.... talk, understand what person does, put your self in that person's shoe... may be you'll get some answers...
It appears very hypothetical situation...but for a given data, I can always almost say that Company A will NEVER pay less in total package than Company B for the same job role (assuming its the same as you have not provided any data for it...)
It's like saying... Faecbook will pay less than Zynga for an in demand SE. They will surely match offer of Company B if they want you.
2. Culture is extremely important not just to grow but to work every day and leave home satisfied.
amazing how mountable and wearable camera is ok with gopro and other similar solution but not ok with google glass...
I believe its not camera but elite and exclusiveness it created got backfired... (though typically it has worked well for other products launches like gmail etc.)
also 1500$ tag is bit over priced for a tech gadget..
I have google glass... sad to see it sunsetting but look at the bright side... this announcement makes the current version of google glass collectible and limited edition... :)
But if you are in bay area, 32 miles can take upto an hour or more depending upon which direction you are flowing... like living in east bay and commuting to peninsula is easy hour one way.
If you are doing less things than you used too is typically a sign of growing company... hopefully you will have your efforts payup in a big way... best of luck!
I have always felt that working in startup is like giving a kid 10 toys to play with and taking one toy away every year. It's very normal not liking and feeling of giving up something you own but it is as important for a company to get away from generalized to specialized resources with the growth.
a senior management leader once told, his goal every year is to find, train and pass on the baton of some of his existing responsibilities to next person until he has nothing else left...
Your point about user sessions is absolutely right and I completely agree with you. Solution should be made for a problem and one should not expect solution to fit into a problem somehow.
My challenge is solving a problem for future presents a paradox, future is unknown with nothing to compare to...
it becomes even more challenging when present is working just fine....
here is what I wanted to solve...
Entertainment industry is going thru a tectonic shift. For the first time in history, creating(smart phones), hosting(Youtube, Dailymotion) and distributing(Social media, Youtube) content is never so easy, cheap or accessible to everyone.
We are going thru a Content Democratization (Content Spring). New content is created every second, new stars are born everyday. According to Youtube, 100 hours of videos are uploaded to YouTube every minute.
But, just as any democracy, Content Democratization is bringing chaos to video watching experience. How would you find entertainment you really want to watch? How would you personalized your video watching experience?
That's where Joday comes in. Joday cancels all the noise and delivers high quality entertainment relevant to YOU (by curating, organizing for easy access by channels etc and by personalizing to recommend new content based on your taste)
Also, you are right about end-to-end encryption. That would definitely help the cause.
