I do not find it more simple, parse has very simple to use, time-saving, client side libraries. PostgREST does not seem to have anything close to that. There seem to be 3rd party client side libraries, but mostly abandon-ware.
Good job man. I have used inkscape in these kind of tasks, but it seems that with every new version, it sucks even more. Seeing these kind of web apps is refreshing!
Just some feedback, saving the SVG produces an all black SVG, copying the SVG copies nothing.
We will never get around replacing old industrial interfaces like Modbus, because there are simply too many and because people still use them in new applications because better the devil you know.
Still we can use gateways and tools to expose the data to newer better options like OPC UA:
I use this at pidtuner.com to calculate Jacobians. But beware, nothing beats analytic derivatives. Depending on the languague and requirements needed to implement a given algorithm, it is typically far better to use Automatic Differentiation.
I prefer Armadillo because of the Matlab-like syntax that feel like writting down the equations as they are in pencil and paper. Much more readible:

I have given WSL2 a chance recently and it sucks, the vmmem process eats all my memory. It is not a recent bug, it has been known since 2019 and hasn't been fixed.
Beware: Don't loose your time with this (like I did) until you see the issue below fixed.

Not sure I can (legal reasons?), but suffice to say thay feed multiple stations with multiple relatively large machines (+10MW). In some cases they have daisy-chained basins, so there are also level inner-loops to be tuned. So the approach has been using the pidtuner for tuning the inner loops first by keeping the outloops in manual. Then tune the loops outwards using the same approach. This has been the winning combination.
For me the most complicated part when doing manually was the delay, because the water from the intake gates do not reach the headponds inmediatly. What I like is that the tool considers the delay in the tuning.
