Things are only going to get worse. I believe the restriction for employees to sell their stock expires in two weeks. It should be interesting to see what happens to the stock price at that time.
Isn't it against Digg's terms to attempt to duplicate their algorithm? And, he is using their trademarked name in his URL? If he were smart, he would take this down ASAP before he receives a lawsuit from Digg.
- Bad domain name.
- Way too much color. My eyes have trouble focusing on anything because it is very distracting.
- There are a lot of background images that probably aren't needed that would make the design much cleaner.
- Is the breaking news really that import to new clients? I would imagine it isn't and it could be put somewhere else that is out of the way.
- Add a minute or two video explaining your service in place of the slide show.
Good point. I'm trying to stay away from pre-defined categories, but I have been considering showing "popular" categories on the homepage so that users can browse listings easier. It would be as easy as writing a query that checks which tags are trending.
It just launched today so it is in it's very early stages. Post some items you may have laying around to see how easy it is to use.
Having no categories to browse in the UI feels a bit strange at first, but imagine if google had categories? I believe Craigslist built it wrong from the beginning, but people are very use to that structure.
