It would be great if LinkedIn also responds to the NYT article with data on attrition rates at Amazon vis-a-vis other tech-companies. That would be irrefutable evidence.
I know this beats the very premise of your product - "personalized" guidance but thought I would ask anyway.
How open are you to sharing general guidelines (that are insightful and not already available everywhere) ?
It would also help if you could ask the people who are successfully placed to write their learnings along the process. Similar to how the Insight data engineering fellow and others at coding schools share what they learnt/built.
Regarding the "Why join YC?", Adam has answered this on Quora:
here are a bunch of reasons why it's valuable for Quora to be a YC company:
We'll have Sam and all the other partners to help us.
We get to be part of the YC community / alumni network of founders.
We get access to all the resources of YC.
We were raising money anyway, so there was no overhead in letting YC participate. And independent of the benefits to Quora, I think it will be fun personally to participate in some of the YC events. I hope my perspective can help some of the other companies.
There is plenty of good advice on this question from ex-Googlers at Quora - What advice would you give to someone who just graduated and is about to join Google that you wish you had when you joined Google? - http://qr.ae/t3Ac8 (does not require login)
Source, Dustin Moskovitz: 1-3 were accounts used to test registration. Evidently it only took Mark 3 tries to clear the bugs. Link: http://qr.ae/NMpX6 (Does not require login)
Great Work. Like the design and the intuitive design a lot.
One small grammatical error:
On the companies page, you have "Founder this company". Perhaps, you could change it to "Founder"/"Founder of this company".
I thought my browser didn't load the complete article because I couldn't see your obligatory "thanks to X, Y and Z for reading this"...and I kept scrolling.
Thanks for the great article, btw.
You don't give your password to them...It's stored on your hard-drive (and so is the search index). They just didn't communicate that clearly. You can find a lot more information regarding Cloud Magic here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJjztU-TjcU&feature=playe...
