Indian companies just don’t have the contacts and background to access capital in the way that “yeh we went to school together” that opens more doors. It often seems like VC is designed to keep the idiot sons of the aristocracy occupied rather than being about building anything great.
The old HTC One M8 used to fill this niche but they might be too old to use on the daily any more. I’ve been thinking of digging mine out, the headphone output was great
I assume there are shortcuts like extending the service life of particular consumables and whatnot.
Even something like a Gripen, designed to be run from makeshift airfields needs 10 hours of maintenance per hour of flight. Maybe it’s just hard to build supersonic, combat capable airframes as was suggested above.
This is a fundamental misreading of self described “conservatives”. They only pay lip service to economic liberalism because it gives them something to rally around. It’s always been more about prejudice and punishment. If you want proof, look at the shift of the religious aligned conservatives starting in the 1960s who once leaned economically toward social democracy but quickly shifted right when the right started pandering to prejudice.
It’s a worldwide shift, happened across western nations as the left (once a bastion of prejudice) moved toward more progressive ideals.
Self identifying conservatives have never been terribly interested in economics and never will be.
Still, the F16 is 16 hours of maintenance per hour of flight or something close to that. Which probably isn’t terrible compared to other aircraft but doesn’t seem sensible for something without aircrew
The technique of putting machine code behind a REM was common in the Microbee (another Z80 machine). Often used for sound effects in games as the standard PLAY basic statement only did tones.
Entra is their lock in. They have little need for office other than customers expect it but if you look at the direction where they wholesale throw out Outlook for it’s worse web version you can see where they are headed
I don’t think it matters in a practical sense. Our streaming overlords have already shown that by crippling the effective color space of supposedly 4K video they care little for quality of broadcast. Crushed blacks and smeared video are all you’ll get no matter what the standards say. They were, are and remain terrible on 1080 video, 4K is a farce.
I haven’t used print for debugging for ages. Now it’s all trace on azure and hope your bug ends up in the sampled data in whatever that stupid thing is called. App insights or some rubbish. Apparently a good old log file just isn’t good enough it has to be larded up with a query language. Grep was fine guys.
I think I’d like to see a site where people posted their chat results that ended in a successful resolution. Just for isolated bugs or library use questions. Would not be useful for a lot of the internal work I do but maybe saving those internally would be useful inside a company
The heart of the mighty Australian Microbee. I still have the Rodney Zak’s book somewhere although I’ll admit doing anything fancy with assembler back then was a bit beyond me
I think it was clear that the poster was distracted by all the useless bongs and beeps and that was what caused the extra distracted driving bong or beep
Time window is roughly to a non US citizen from when civil rights and women’s rights were ascending there. The last 20 odd years show a marked decline in both. I often wonder when segregation in the US will be introduced.
