I has Facebook send a verification through Whatsapp, I legitimately thought it was a scam until I googled it and realized they do actually send verification that way.
are these areas with declining populations and rising housing prices increasing the number of houses? it could be that the population declines because no one can afford to live there however it's still a desirable area so prices remain high. cities like Austin are seeing reduction in housing prices despite population increase due to construction of new housing.
I've found memory somewhat useful as i don't need to give it all the context for everything, that said it's equally as annoying when it latches onto something I said in a different chat and derails the conversation because of that.
When USAid started in 1961 there were around 100 million starving people in Africa, as of 2024 that number has tripled to over 300 million. Sure the percentage of the population that's starving has gone down some but the actual number has gone up significantly and these people are still fully reliant on others good will for their survival. Has that really made the world a better place?
I agree I'm not saying people can't or shouldn't donate to do that I'm saying a country with 40 trillion in debt shouldn't be spending even more money to feed people on another country when it's own citizens are struggling.

eusocial animals are really cool you can kinda treat the entire colony as a single organism. weirdly enough this isn't restricted to insects there are actually some eusocial mammals.
a huge amount of American graduated aren't able to find work after graduation with a significant number of jobs going to foreigners. that seems problematic to me we should be putting Americans first not importing people to do the job they spent years training for.
let's compare ai water usage with something even more useless, water leaking out of pipes. the United States currently loses about 2 trillion gallons of water annually to leaking pipes. this is in comparison to around 230 billion gallons used by data centers.
we're literally dumping several times the amount of water used by data centers onto the ground for no benefit at all. oddly enough I haven't seen any protests about this despite how concerned everyone is about water usage.
food demand is pretty inelastic their margins are low but they're fairly consistent. modern games can have budgets of a few hundred million dollars with absolutely no guarantee of sales. at those margins 1 failed triple ai have could wipe out several years of profits.
