So she did something illegal and got caught? I'm not really sure what the takeaway is here - if you're going to do something illegal and not take even the most basic security precautions (set up a VPN, use TOR, etc.), then of course you will get caught.
I tought I missed something so I read the "article" twice. Nothing unusual or surprising. Do something illegal and expect consequences.
This is a poorly written rehash of a BBC article (which itself isn't very good) with a clickbait headline.
A university student illegally downloaded a copyrighted movie and received a temporary 20 day ban from the Universities WiFi as a result. This is not the first time a student at the school has received such a ban.
Reading the original BBC article mentions "Despite it happening during exam season, she says it didn't have a negative effect on her studies."
How exactly is this a news story?
