I just wanted to thank you for Life, it's incredibly fun to play with it. I love the mobile app to record and then transfer it on desktop to experiment and find fund loops.
I would have ranked the speed by the article's page and not homepages. As most of the users they only see the article's page, that page needs most of the attention. Homepage is usually for the hard users and they wouldn't mind a bit slower page than the article's.
In the article the author mention that VS Code doesn't support Poetry venv. This can be solve by configuring Poetry to create the virtualenvironment directly in the project folder (which in my opinion is neater).
Well, not much, I mean all our competitors are also using Fastly. I would be more worried if we were the only one using Fastly and everybody else was fine. But as we are all in the same boat, we lose the same :-)
Well, it's a 4 km distance and according to the schedule of the train it takes 6 minutes between both stations, so it would be an average of 40 km/h (well, you will understand that it is relative as the train has to accelerate and decelerate). Also, some of the portion is in a tunnel, I don't know if this can affect in any way the network.
Most of my side projects just lay somewhere because I think a good design can make a difference. So this is really great resources.
Does anybody have experience with https://tailwindui.com/. As dev I like the tailwindcss and the founder released this some time ago and I am wondering if it's worth the price.
It might be a newbie question, but for my own culture, what is the impact of a given snapshot if the database is really big ?
I guess it all depends on what data we are touching, but let imagine I want to update all the rows for a table with 1 billions entries, wouldn't the snapshot be giantic ?
I have two Raspberry Pi with PiHole (for redundancy) and it works very well.
But still find something a bit annoying and there is little we can do about it.
1. YouTube Ads are still showing up (you need to maintain a list quite often to avoid those ads)
2. To maintain the software (update is simple), but you better update and then back up the SD card and replicate it to the second Raspberry Pi.
In terms of performance, I have not seen anything blocker, no malfunctioning app or the network getting slower. Time-to-time, I got angry wife that cannot click on ad links. :-)
