There’s a huge difference between does it work vs is it elegant.
As a software engineer I have been strict on making sure my code is elegant.
Vibe coding has switched me to product (and project) manager. Why would I care about what the code looks like? Does it work!? Does it do what I want? Does the app have the right UI and UX? These are my concerns now. I rarely look at the output code.
I love this! Such a simple game with a fun level of skill. High score 17485 feels pretty good (edit: Oh! Low power mode on the computer makes the game run slow, thus much easier to get crazy high scores).
Reminds me of SFCave and Nanana Crash for the simplicity and surprising replay ability.
> software specs are often an order of magnitude simpler than the actual number of branches in the code
Love this! Be it design specs or a mock from the designer. So many unaccounted for decisions. Good devs will solve many on their own, uplevel when needed, and provide options.
And absolutely it means more design up front. And without human in the direct loop, maybe people won’t skimp on this!
If I had a human assistant, I'd ask them to book my flight. The chat box is your window to your AI assistant. Maybe this new assistant hasn't earned your trust yet, but it makes sense that trust-aside, you'd ask your assistant to do whatever they could do for you.
The fact that this deactivation feels possible is still a telling sign of where we’ve been heading. Update fail. Subscription lapsed payment. All sorts of new failure modes.
Just installed Nuenki, really excited to give this a try. Amazing how it can hopefully iteratively help me learn Spanish while I don't change my behavior much.
The examples they show have little captions that say "best of #", like "best of 8" or "best of 4". Hopefully that truly represents the odds of generating the level of quality shown.
Our team currently relies on thingamajig's responsiveness and cannot tolerate a change in performance. We will setup a temporary replica of thingamajig. Can you please hold off until our thingamajig replica is stable. My team expects this to be done by March 8th.
If I don't hear back from you by lunchtime, I WILL eat your leftovers.
I literally just copied and pasted that exact part into my notes. Something about "versus doing nothing" really hits hard. I can do more than nothing! And also, sometimes, I need grace and time.
SCUMS! (StarCraft Use Map Settings). These maps provided a wide array of games and I believe popularized or gave birth to a few. I remember tower defense, level up games where you and the other players explore the map and gain upgrades, a predator game where one player is chosen randomly to be the killer in a horror style hunt. Imagine, each map, possibly an entire new game, sometimes being discovered for the first time together with strangers. Such a fun and amazing time!
