Hi. I use shortwave (AI email built on top of Gmail) but I’m growing frustrated with it. I’ve never really gotten into telegram as an assistant. Would you mind sharing why telegram is the preferred interaction medium of choice here?
Shane Parrish of Farnam Street has his own two volumes of this (the Mental Models series), which although designed beautifully, cost more, have 10x the words, and take 10x the time to get the points across.
> For every tonne of carbon Allbirds emits as a business—from the sheep on its farms to the lightbulbs at HQ—it pays to take a tonne of carbon out of the atmosphere. It costs around 10 cents to offset 10 kg of carbon through its own Carbon Fund.
So they are holding themselves accountable for their footprint, taxing themselves "by funding verified emissions reduction projects across air, wind and energy."
it is exciting and inspirational for a future in which participation wouldn't simply be voluntary — thinking back to that great tweet thread about what it's like to have trash in Japan.
That is such a perfect example of ingroup bias in action.
You can label these materials as censorable because you, likely not a follower of islam, believe that material from islamic uploaders talking about a revolution and indoctrination do not belong on your platform.
yet here we are, with thousands of christian, america-first indoctrination videos, calling for an uprising against everything from vaccines to elections. IT IS THE SAME THING.
you do realize this is a "are we the baddies?" situation, no?
Tell your friend in design they aren't allowed to create any original content. They have to do everything using stock or readily available material. Build a proto. If the proto has any legs or fun, you've got something. You don't need to quit your job to know this yet.
I say this with privilege, but you need to be asking why. And if you are dissatisfied with the answers, you are working with the wrong place. As you can see from other comments here, skip levels serve many purposes. If in your case it's because skip levels are used to bypass distrust of your manager, then you need your manager to address that with you honestly before you simply do what they say.
even if i agreed with you about some of those points (and i worked at google 2013-2015, internally criticized many of their processes, and was lectured about "my place" at google), everything you said is independent of reading into someone's motives. you're arguing with a point i am not making at all and trivializing the abuse timnit subjects herself to in going public with this.
Just a nudge from a stranger: Please take a moment to consider the extremely difficult position "the individual" may be in, the frustrations leading up to this, and the possible negative impact this has on their career that they had to weigh before naively thinking that they "love the fame." that's gamergate mentality in action and will work against you.
1+2 for me, then i'd sub 3 with
- access to the ocean, mountains (of different geology, from gentle rollers to crags & couloirs), forests, desert all within half a day's drive.
not that your 3 isn't accurate, it would just be my #4 :)
I mean this with no snark at all: Yelp has been screwing over not just restaurants, but small businesses in general, since the moment their first sales representative had a friend leave a negative review to someone who didn't pay up. Mafia tactics are core to their business.
Youtube, the company that can't even be trusted to keep the scariest shit possible off Youtube Kids repeatedly to the point where I won't even let my kids watch it anymore, being in charge of filtering and categorizing videos? Nope.
