- ASOS is the Amazon of clothing, shipping internationally. I think it's the number on online clothing retailer in Australia.
- As much as we all hate Wonga, in terms of technology they we're the first fully automated loans company.
- Just Eat (exactly the same as Seemless for the UK) is also an amazing accomplishment for a company/website, uniting thousands of takeaways. (That's what we can to-go restaurants in the UK).
I'm fairly proud we have some huge ($15 billion dollar) home-grown companies in these areas (even if Wonga is evil).
I can't remember where I read this but the font they write on the roads (at least in the UK) when looked at straight-on seems unusually tall, but when viewed from the steep angle of a car it looks normal sized.
I would guess the same is true with these numbers, when a pilot is taxing around the runway the font won't look as tall because of the extreme angle of viewing from the cockpit.
Stemmed from something painful I had to do every day (build HTML emails) that a web app didn’t exist for. Then I slowly went from using it to every day to running it every day. If you’d have asked the question a year a go I’d have said every day.
Lipton appears twice on this chart. Did that slip past the editors? Makes you wonder if any other brands on the chart are in the wrong place. I don't have time to check them all.
Edit: I don't think L'Oreal is owned by Nestle either.
