IIRC There was a Jim Keller interview a few years ago where he said basically the same thing (I think it was from right around when he joined Tenstorrent?). The ISA itself doesn't matter, it's just instructions. The way the chip interprets those instructions is what makes the difference. ARM was designed from the beginning for low powered devices whereas x86 wasn't. If x86 is gonna compete with ARM (and RISC-V) then the chips are gonna need to also be optimized for low powered devices, but that can break decades of compatibility with older software.
Not every time. In my current place the cable is stapled directly to the studs so it would require gutting basically everything to replace all of it. Luckily most of the runs go to places that make sense but I’ll never be able to upgrade from CAT5e.
Yup! In fact Meta’s implementation is open sourced as Sapling SCM and includes both Mercurial and Git support[1]. Internally the main repository use Mercurial although I believe a few legacy projects still use git.

For people who don't like the new look, you can go to preferences->Appearance and select 'Vector (Legacy)'. It does require you to login first which is annoying but at least you can easily go back to the old look.
Edit: You can also have it take up the entire width by hitting the button in the bottom right. Doesn't seem to remember the change for me though so hopefully they add that in soon.
I hope that this will be used in the future as an example of why MBAs don't always make good CEOs. You may be the best person in the world when it comes to managing a company, but if you're not knowledgeable and passionate about the product you're making and/or selling then you're going to not do very well. Off the top of my head I can think of 2 more examples: Apple before and after Steve Jobs returned and AMD before and after Lisa Su was appointed CEO.
Now that Matter and Thread are finally starting to roll out, is there really any good reason for new products to still use Z-Wave? Or am I just crazy to see this as Z-Wave trying to continue a format war (first started with Zigbee) that they're almost certainly going to lose?
Hinge is owned by Match Group. Along with also owning Match.com they also own Tinder, OkCupid, PlentyOfFish, Black People Meet, Our Time, and about 20 more services. AFAIK the only "big" dating app that they don't own is Bumble. It's honestly insane how much of a monopoly Match Group has on the modern dating scene.
tbf, a lot of things still haven't been optimized for when AMD introduced >4 cores with first gen Ryzen. I'm running a 5950x and unless I'm doing something like 3D rendering I rarely notice more than ~8 of my cores ramping up at a time.
