I had trouble with this some months ago. It took me a while to realise the issue at hand and ultimately I had to call Amazon customer support. They reset passwords to "amazon" if you do so...
I do not remember the full details but judging from log files I was trying to set a long password (20 alphanumeric varied case characters) and it never let me login again. This happened multiple times.
"We" is Google, could someone add that to the title? I was really confused what kind of algorithm would scan submitted pages at HN and rank based on that...
On topic: Thanks! I would have thought Google already did that. Don't you also weigh in the age of the content? So if you have seen something earlier somewhere else it would be the "master" and rank higher?

It's weird. What I get from this post is "if you won't buy my book, please read something else". That, of course sounds logical but she is missing that she is telling freeloaders to download some other author's works, thus "marketing" the other author and not her. I would not do it like that.
I have the same problem. I do "trust" Google with some of my activities (such as watching online videos on -> Youtube and sometimes using the web search -> Google) but I do not trust them in the meaning that I think they do no evil with my data.
I trust they are not abusing the data they record about me, but I do not trust in the good of harvesting and data mining said data.
Using Tor does not mean that you are an exit node. You have to actually set that up and it is warning you about it. Using Tor as a client only is safe and secure.
If people do bad things through your exit node, you are in danger regardless where you live. The law enforcement must be aware of what your server was doing. Its understanding varies from place to place.
