I had no idea about Elan School. The comic is absolutely amazing and I've just spent the last several hours reading the first half of it. Absolutely amazing and hard to just imagine the horrific physical and psychological abuse that occurred at this "school."
Ah, my recollection is definitely different. It was absolute madness for a while. You'd show up and there would be a line of 30+ people all waiting to see the same place. You'd also need to be armed with a "rental resume" along with the dreaded application fee to even be a contender.
In the 2000s, many younger people (sub-30s) moved to the bay area to participate in the boom.
When things went sideways, many returned to their home state and/or moved back in with their parents. The local San Francisco rental market subsequently crashed.
I have enabled 2FA on my Amazon account and also on my root AWS account. In order to log in to AWS using my root account, I must enter two 2FA responses: one for my Amazon account, the other for my AWS root account. It's weird!
I'm surprised nobody mentioned this, but if you are on a Mac, KeepIt[1] is great. It is basically an overlay on top of the normal Mac file system (a bit like DevonThink in that regard).
Is this really “simpler” as they claim? It reads a bit like the honeymoon phase and I’m a lot more interested in how they feel about the new stack 1 or 2 years down the line.
