If uBlock is the only thing holding you back from an iPhone, you can use the Orion browser, which can install many Chrome extensions (including uBlock Origin)
If what you're looking for is a shorter key throw, you might be interested in the Kailh Choc switches[1]. They are still somewhat in their infancy, but you can find them on a few DIY boards[2] as well as a few pre-builts[3].
I found I was back to near my original typing speed in a little over 2 weeks when I switched to Workman layout. I also switched to ortholinear at the same time, which may have had an effect on the time as well.
