I like the idea, but the pricing is prohibitive. While it might be acceptable for a green card application, the price is the same for the citizenship which is much simpler
login with github redirect to github for authorization and then does not work. No error message, just nothing. Click on login and you stay on the page.
Docker runs on any linux. There is a few dependencies but the list is reducing very fast. You don't even need to have AUFS as you can use devicemapper or even regular copy if you have neither.
Yes, docker can easily access host's filesystem with volumes.
Yes you can access you GPU. I am using docker for mining.
Yes Docker plays nicely with GUI apps, there are plenty of GUI usecases with docker (docker desktop, firefox, etc..)
You can do anything you want within a python app and docker. There is a docker-py library that gives access to all docker features.
This is so true. Companies complain about not finding talent, but with this kind of behavior, it is understandable.
Recruiters are just like that, they send you plenty of offers and do not even bother follow up.
I got the silence treatment as we'll from Thomson Reuters for a golang developer position:
1: phone interview that goes well.
2: technical interview that goes very well. The guy is very excited and barely can hide it.
3: formal phone call for logistic details
4: silent
After 3 unanswered mails, I dropped it. And for the best. I then joined Docker, I do work with Golang and I have a lot of fun.
It is not the first time this kind of thing happen and it is very frustrating. I think it just filter companies where you do not want to go work.
