What I have been doing for years is remember one single password which would meet the password requirements of most websites.

This is 8 characters long, has upper-case and lower-case letters, numbers and symbols (Also if you try typing on the keyboard, it is actually a pattern).
I can remember one such password. Now, I have a formula for any website or app for which requires me to create credentials. This formula will help me add website specific information to the password.
Say the website is news.ycombinator.com, I will use second and third letters of ycombinator which is 'co' and increment both by 1 to make them 'dp' and add this somewhere in the password, which makes it

Now, obviously unless someone knows my encryption technique, even if they get to know password of one of my accounts, they can never know the others.

I also read the tumblr post 'What I Learned Negotiating With Steve Jobs'[2] which is also on the same lines. And then I read NY Times article that Jobs family has been secretly donating money to charity for past 20 years anonymously[3].
One thing is clear. The world is fascinated by Steve Jobs.

I'm curious. Which useful extensions are you talking about and why are they not listed in webstore? The one extension that I mentioned has two versions. The non-webstore version doesn't abide to Google's T&C [lets you download Youtube videos].
If you want to keep any extensions that you didn't install from Web Store, use the dev channel[1] of Chrome and they will work just fine. I use an extension and they warned me one month back to either install their Web Store version will fewer functionality or move to dev channel.
I hope this goes viral. This is very well written and illustrated with screenshots. I recall my "non-technical relative" had a netbook with 10-inch screen and when they opened up their browser, the upper half would be toolbars stacked below each other.
IE has now tabs and address bar lined up together in one row, almost every browser has stopped showing the menu bar and what not to save the browser's real estate. I understand that privacy is the real concern here. But my screen's real estate is a concern for me. Why can't the concept of browser toolbars end?

Add Hangouts to the discussion. They incorporated SMS into the app, but the implementation doesn't look complete/polished, let alone the app. So, it doesn't provide me an alternative to the OEM provided messaging app, and at the same time they are accessing my SMS messages.
I personally don't use Facebook on phone now, but I would recommend using a third-party app for accessing Facebook on android. I have used Friendcaster, Fast and Seesmic before and found them pretty decent.
I spent most of the time finishing my backlog on the multireddits I have made. To list down some of the sub-reddits, /r/dailyprogrammer, /r/cscareerquestions, /r/algorithms etc. This, in the time I would have been surfing HN instead, obviously.
I also had a bookmarks folder of links from HN that I hadn't gone through.
The story doesn't suggest that that the CEO or management staff should have thought of a fan before. It suggests that they should have probably looked into the problem better which may have involved visiting the production line and asking the workers how they would fix the issue inexpensively. Then probably one of them would have come up with this solution, or may be an even better one.
I see people bringing up points like "What if the fan dies?" or "what if the weight of the boxes increases due to extra packaging?". IMHO, these arguments are invalid because of the same reason. Fan is not the solution.
