I agree with the previous poster re: poor design. 1st thing I see is tons of wasted space with just a logo. Not even single sentence what its about. Then I scroll down a bit, and the explanation sentences flash on then move to next. Bothersome to keep up; I left without reading anything else, because you have no hook and it does not tell me immediately why should I care. FB, Airbnb etc tell me what they do (X helps you Y better than ever.)
Well things need to be very social nowadays. If you thought of some clever way to make your app into a social network of sorts, that's way better.
Also, what problem does your app (or others too) solve? Are you making these apps because you CAN, or because they're USEFUL?
I'd recommend thinking of some good uses for your app currently on GPlay (that camera one.) I can't really right now, but that's YOUR job. Your Gplay page should be ALL about telling ppl why your app is USEFUL, and not a gimmick.
Once you've found some really clever uses for your app (assuming they exist), then you need to change your Gplay page, but also make those uses VIRAL. Then people can catch on.
And lastly, congrats on making an app in the first place. Hope this info is of some help.
-- _Just a thought. Something to do with two people making faces at each other, or kissing (ie "duck") faces for the camera app.
Thanks for pointing out a lack of "thesis." I edited the post to try and highlight this.
To answer directly though - I currently lead to meetup.com groups, one for programmers and one for entrepreneurs. I had the idea that I can pull help from the programming one. They are all acquaintances, and as a newcomer to programming, I don't know any one else well enough (ie friends) that can be a cofounder with me. Making this "collective" would ideally let me have people work on issues little by little, on a "need-to-know" basis. Then if we get along, I'd bring them on FT (they are given equity even for the previous PT work.) I don't have any $ to be paying people either.
I see this as circumventing the reliability problem (they get equity for real work only, not hours - ie GitHub commits etc). As for dedication, we get to work with each other for mutual benefit, and see if we "get along."
you cannot possibly expect to become a jorts.com when what they do is so simple and what you do is so complex. anyone can purchase and wear "jorts". not many people at all can and will want to go 'jeep diving' at their own significant peril.
this idea, as it is, cannot possibly become a viral video. there are many reasons why, here are a few -
for starters - with the rules, this idea is already too complex for viral video greatness.
second, hardly anyone else can submit their own version, because barely anyone drives open jeeps, and even fewer people are willing to jump in them.
most important - your video has no climax in action. yes, cat videos didn't either but your video is not cute and funny. you are not doing flips. all you do is sit in the car. the mcdonalds "fire in the hole" videos are better comparison to your own concept, and show what you are missing.
