Probably because Musk's purpose for Twitter is to influence elections and public opinion, not to make money.

The thing is, even if the CBC is government-funded, it is still independent reporting, unlike news outlets from China, Saudia Arabia, or Russia, which are straight out lies and propaganda. Any teen with access to social media can debunk 75% of stories on those outlets. NPR, CBC, BBC, and the rest are on a different planet compared to the other garbage.
