There's a difference between content moderation and censorship. Not to mention shaping user experience.
For example, If a site has a mechanism where after X number of downvotes by users, your comment is hidden, that's not censorship.
You've spoken your piece, and other users voted on if they liked your comment or not, or if it contributed to the conversation or provided useful information, etc.
Those other things you mentioned, you do so without context. No social media site can function and be a useful and valuable place to visit without some form of content moderation.
The distinction lies in where the line is drawn. Can you (constructively) criticize the site mods or parent company? Speak your own views in a reasonable discussion that don't cross the line (calls for violence, unintelligible ranting, trolling)?
I mean, that's should be a reasonable understanding for most people. Sure, there are companies out there I don't support because I don't like what they do. But there are others with opinions I disagree with, but I still patronize them.
And its important to recognize that the stores I refuse to patronize, and those I do that hold views I dislike, are probably not given the same distinctions by others, even those with ideals like mine.
But the core point should be we can have a calm, rational discussion on it, and leave with the understanding that your thoughts and views are not 100% my thoughts and views, and that's ok as long as neither of us hold views promoting violence or hatred.
I've never met a person in my life I 100% agreed with about everything. Not my mom, not my dad, not my sister, or my wife .
Talking and finding commonality is more important and necessary than finding reasons to dislike each other.
But a psycological cause wouldnt result in the damage found on the victims, right?
Didn't one doctor who examined some of these people describe damage that looked like "a concussion without a concussion"? I.e. damage to the brain you'd see on people who had conxussions, but they experienced no physical trauma?
Lying? You mean changing their understanding of something new as more information becomes available? That's how science works they use the best info available, and change their understanding as more info becomes available.
Why wouldn't people support transgendered people able to be the gender they wish and being able to do so in all possible aspects? Be they transwomen wanting to play female sports, or transmen wanting to play male sports (which you oddly leave out of your question).
I don't know the history of all sports, but the few tidbits I know all point to sex/gender separation as being initially based on beliefs that women were inferior to men. From physical sports to mental ones like chess, sex separation was due to women not being seen as equal to men.
I think its time to do away with separations on sex, and go with ones based on ability and size. Boxing does it with weight classes, why can't we do it with everything?
But you specified they wouldn't give you FMLA leave, not unpaid leave. If that's how you requested it, then they wouldn't be able to give you that, due to FMLA itself.
>"Nike sued MSCHF last week claiming the "Satan Shoes [were] likely to cause confusion and dilution and create an erroneous association" between MSCHF's products and the company. "
Nike felt the way the shoes were marketed and sold was confusing enough that people might assume these were official Nike shoes.
If you're speaking about the resale doctrine when you say "right of first" in trademark law it appears that altering the goods so they are materially different is where the line is drawn.if you substantially alter them, it sounds like you don't retain the rights and protections under the resellers doctrine.
What do you mean the ulnar "side"? The ulnar nerve controls several fingers on each hand. The middle and ring. iirc. I started getting that tingling and numbness in my fingers, and it kept getting worse and worse until one day on the train I was thinking "ok, something is REALLY wrong" and went to a specialist my general referred me to.
He agreed that it seemed my ulnar neve was getting pinched by my elbow, most likely (i had Google around, and while I don't think googling equals an experienced doctor, I told him my symptoms, what I read up on, and asked if he thought it was something like that. To my surprise he agreed after some tests and asking me questions).
He told me to start sleeping in a manner where I couldn't curl or fold my arms. He even advised taking a small pillow, wrapping it around my arm, and ducttapping it, so I couldn't bend my elbow at night even if I wanted to!
I didn't do that, but I did pay more attention to how I sleep, and kept my arms naturally straight (relaxed) when I slept. I did have an extra pillow, and I'd lay that across my arm, which was enough. Anytime I woke up and my arm was folded, I reextended it.
After a few weeks of that, and the pain and tingling not growing, it started greatly reducing and went away. I still try to sleep with my arms as straight as possible.
So she's just an all around terrible, toxic person. Doesn't surprise me she's been apparently banned from Stripe, CPAC and probably a bunch of other places.
But reducing it down to a basic fact exists in all of these. We agree the boat is stuck. We agree an election took place in the US. We agree there is an Earth.
