It was never free or instant. It only works from 9-15 on workdays and not on weekends. Also if there are holidays in eu also doesn't work for domestic transfers. Easter is fun whe it stops for 4 days even though country has only 3 state holidays during those times. Costs from 25-40 cents per domestic transaction or 7-17 euro per over border one. Depending on the bank.

It takes around an hour or some days over border for transfer to go through.

Maybe you think of sepa instant which is supported by some banks. Very new. Mostly used for people to people transfers. Some shops are starting to support it. It is actually instantaneous anc works weekends. It seems to be mostly free.

If it is just haptic it's OK but the talk was at least in media that it would be an actual speed limit which in current implementation is idiotic.

We have a new car which can read speed signs. In theory good idea. But tech isn't where it should be. For example when you drive on highway 100 km/h with 130 km/h speed limit and the car is warning you that you are speeding because it saw speed sign for 40 km/h on exit ramp it's a little worrying if car would actually obey speed limit. Breaking from 100 to 40 for no reason by car itself would not be good.

And there are also speed signs for only some vehicles which I don't think any car can read and for example Austrian signs (30 km/h limit and then subtext "valid only for side roads"). And another thing speed signs says limit is 50 km/h. It is valid up to next intersection. Intersection that invalidates speed limit is defined as intersection with more then 4 housing units. It's sometimes hard for human to know if intersection invalidates speed limit or not. How would a car know?

It definitely doesn't use state of the art TTS. It sounds similar to MBrola english voice. There is google's [Wavenet](https://deepmind.com/blog/wavenet-generative-model-raw-audio...) and even chinese Baidus [Clarinet](https://clarinet-demo.github.io/) which are much better.

Site looks broken, because CSS is loaded over HTTP which is disabled if site is loaded over HTTPS.

I'm not sure how reliable they are but if they are this doesn't seem good for AWS:

And also in DO I can be sure that I won't pay more then 5$ per month. Even if I'm DDOSed. Since network is essentially unlimited (There are currently no network overcharges since metering doesn't work yet). In the future I assume that they would remove my site If I get DDOSed instead of sending me bill I can't pay.

But AWS: If you get DDOSed you just pay a large bill. Which can of course get nulled if Amazon feels like it but still.

Try [BSDiff](http://www.daemonology.net/bsdiff/) it is meant for diffing binary files and it was used for incremental updates in Chrome. Now it seems they replaced it with their own algorithm [Courgette](https://www.chromium.org/developers/design-documents/softwar...).

I use it to upload new versions of my java app since I have slow upload. Instead of always uploading ~40 MB JARs I just upload 1.8 MB diff which is of course much faster.

I tested it with OpenTripplanner (kinda opensource Google transit) on JVM with ARM 8 jre. Times for 380 requests are in seconds:

This times doesn't count roundtrip time this is purely JVM time of graph search requests. All requests are serial. All tests except redhift are run with 1GB of JVM memory. Each test was run twice before to warm JVM this is mostly seen in ARM. DO speeds varies a lot. Even bigger VPS doesn't improve speed. ARM speeds doesn't vary a lot but sometimes during testing I didn't get an answer from a server, but this could also be a problem with OTP.

I was impressed with ARM speed (it is much better then free openshift trial maybe because it only has 512MB) but now after free trial I'll probably move to DO the cheapest package, because for 11€ I can get better performance on DO even though it is varied. During normal use I can see the difference in speed between ARM and openshift in requests but not so much between ARM and DO.

Probably ARM would work better when multiple request would come (It has 4 cores) and DO has 1/2.

How does it compare to normal "Gettext workflow"?

Currently I use i18next with custom functions, where I just write strings like _("car"), ngettext("window", "windows", number) in files. I Can use translator comments, context and everything. (Like //TRANSLATORS: this is used in this way etc.) https://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/html_node/PO-Fil... Babel extracts all translatable strings to POT file. I Translate POT file to my wanted languages PO files with GUI tool of my choice. Then PO file is converted to json and used in translations with i18next library. When New translations are added I just rerun Babel new translations are added, are retranslated if needed and converted to JSON. I looked into a lot of JS libraries and extractors and these was the only one that supported Plurals, context, translator comments, etc.

I looked into Mozilla's L20 which seems nice. But there is no GUI translation editor. You have to find all translatable strings yourself etc. End it seems it's the same here.

One better things is that with FormatJS I wouldn't need moment.js for date localization.
