I think the elitism problem is with people in the technology media specifically like the person who wrote this drivel. What companies are being mean by telling the truth about a 6 week 'boot camp' that will make a liberal arts major code like linus torvalds? Maybe theres a shred of truth to that... as someone else said, should we have medical bootcamps for open heart surgery? How about for flying airplanes? Or designing boeing engines? Good idea or would that not be adequate? I think people see magic around computers and somehow think its "simple and easy" to code if you just learn a few key phrase as if it were a spanish course or something. We know otherwise.
This - Every time I hear about stories like these I cringe. I know people who have been educated in cs ad worked as full time coders for several years and some of them are barely adequate in my eyes. I'm fairly sick of these people trivializing a craft that takes decades to master just because they can copypasta some stackoverflow or github repo and make a slight tweak - I did stuff like that when I was 5 years old. Since a few years after that I learned to write real software and believe me I'm still learning alot
How does one really test for emotional intelligence? Emotional intelligence is by definition difficult to quantify. For that matter so is problem solving ability; a five minute problem solving exercise does not seem sufficient. Did they account for years of experience in sales? Were all the salesmen selling the same thing? At the same location? What about height? What about looks?
No my goal is simply to evade the NSA wiretaps as well as my ISP who has recently started messing up my internet connection whenever I torrent, so I vpn overseas and torrent. But yes you are correct, in order to browse privately you should really use tails or something along with vpn and avoid say logging into facebook or anything linked to your identity.
XkeyScore can decrypt my tunneled connection with aes-256, sha256? I knew the nsa was good but not that good... where does it say it decrypts the vpn tunnels of any kind on the slide though I'm curious -_-
