People overexagerate the perils of dictators forgetting that everyone's dad and mom were dictators in their lives, the authories dictate things all the time, and every manager, president, and prime minister is a dictator of sorts. I guess, what people mostly worry about is having the wrong dictator they do not like, but truly, everybody is being dictated in one way or another, whether they admit it or not.
Dictators are not bad. I know many people who complain about dictators and yet listen to a lot of dictators in their lives, whether it's scientists, politicians, TV broadcasters, or even a work boss that they admire.
People are full of BS regarding dictators. It's time for people to admit the lies that dictators are bad, and admit that they all want to be dictators deep down and just hate the "wrong" kind of dictators that they don't like to be in charge.
Funny, I encounter people complaining about dictators and then dictating to me that "I am not welcome", "I am rejected from their midst", etc...
There are other people who claim they are not judgmental, and then they judge me for saying some words, or judge my judgmentality.
The world is full of BS and hypocrites. The only way to fix it is to actually get the "right" kind of dictator in charge. We need more dictators who can take charage and kick the wrong kind of people into prison.
What do you think? (of course, some might dictate to me that my ideas are wrong or outright dictate that I be silenced by revoking my rights to free speech, while claiming they hate dictators, go figure!)
Better yet, it has excellent DSLs that make it possible to build desktop apps in a way similar to HTML, but much better due to keeping all code dynamic in one language (no static/dynamic multi-language separation/mixing dissonance):

By the way, with the `area` control (widget), you can actually make your app look like anything you want. It lets you do arbitrary painting of vertex graphics while providing keyboard and mouse event listener support to let the user interact with the user-interface, so the sky is the limit.
Also, you can simply compose new custom controls from `area` controls and just work with the new custom controls as higher constructs to build your apps.
In fact, most native GUI toolkits provide non-native support for building any widget you want, so do not think that native widgets limit you. They don't. They in fact provide a better user experience for cases that could utilize predictable-looking basic GUI for non-computer-savvy people while still offering you the extra option of building non-native widgets when you need them.
Idiotic. That’s what using the right tool for the job is all about. Ruby isn’t for everything and never will be. Just stick to CRuby (or JRuby if integrating with the JVM). They’re already stable. No point diluting the space with more rubies for superficial reasons like lessening the performance trade off in Ruby when there are many many other languages better suited for high performance algorithms to apply where needed. That’s what good engineering is all about after all. Knowing trade-offs and choosing the right tool for the job, not denying them or trying to fight them like TruffleRuby idiotically does. Shopify is like Canada’s Groupon. The only reason they are profiting is because they have a simple business idea despite their mediocre engineering skills.
