Never worked with Joomla, just read about it. But I thought it already had these features built in, no need for a component...guess I was wrong.

How this affects a website from the design stand point? Especially AFTER the conversion?

I guess it doesn't affect that much...anyway, it seems this is quite a new component/plugin so I can't say for sure what is affecting or not. We just have to test :)...
