I recently bought a YubiKey from an online marketplace (not directly from Yubico), and I’m seriously questioning its authenticity. The print quality on the serial number is shockingly poor compared to my older YubiKey, which I purchased from an official source.
The one I just got looks like the serial number was printed carelessly—blurry and not nearly as sharp as it should be. I know Yubico is known for their quality, and this just doesn’t seem to match up. However, the device did pass Yubico’s official verification tool, which has me really confused.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Could this really be a legitimate YubiKey, or am I dealing with a fake? Any insights or similar experiences would be much appreciated!
