Oh so reasonable and correct, in oh so many ways.

But we are talking about human behavior, at scale. Between the truly desperate, the idiots, the compulsive and performative violators of social norms, and people whose fingers forever itch for light sockets to poke into...

I'll admit that the risk (of human pandemics where "Patient -1" was a bat) could be reduced quite a bit. Probably.
