Me too, if I had to choose between a rich thief and a poor thief, but I'd still like to be asked first.
I stared at the article and it sounds like a very "technical" archeological description of some old hand copied and illustrated book.
I looked into it because I expected rather something about maybe a romantic sufi in contrast to a 'plain' sufi or something similarly related to the title --- and accessible to a lay person.
