Imagine how out of touch are you, thinking independent companies owe you money forever, because they once ran ads on your platform (... when it was still working).
If I were a BRAND, I'd probably hang back while the pizzagaters and the birthers are running wild on a platform, no?
We have a guy in this very thread basically saying if you don't run ads on Twitter now, it's because your target audience of pedophiles left.
The HN audience really fascinates me. I can never figure it out. It's supposed to be a place for intelligent discussion of technology but then you get QAnon adjacents hanging here as well. I recently discovered Ars Technica commenters, and it's much closer to the people I have worked with in tech for the last two decades now.
It's very easy to get an account here. In fact, I provided no email, and a password which I forgot. I literally can't log out. But point being is, registration is low effort.
This is good when there's no incentive to come here and troll. Communities like this one will stay sane as long as they're niche and unpopular. Once they become popular... well I think Elon sees with his own eyes what happens on Twitter.

> "Musk, meanwhile, has sought to personally call chief executives of some brands that have curbed advertising in order to berate them"
Great plan he's got there. Instead of berating, wouldn't he be better off begging or at the very least asking nicely?

He has all the social graces, that Elmo.
