There's a bit more to the story:
* Anthony Levandowski left Google's self-driving car unit and founded Otto to focus on self-driving trucks. On the way out the door, it is alleged he snagged 14,000 proprietary design documents.
* Google spun off self-driving cars as Waymo.
* Otto was acquired by Uber
* This puts Uber, hypothetically, in possession of proprietary design documents stolen from Google.
