A lot of people don't like people who do the bll sht tech questions because like me they don't have a college degree and it rubs em (me) wrong when you bounce them out of an interview when they're able to make 2-3-5x more money than the interviewer!... Not that I ever applied anywhere but once... I tried, but didn't get hired for a crap 26k a year job at a college about 6 yrs ago. They didn't hire me. Now I make almost 400k a year and absolutely lothe the "college" educated who weren't smart enough to hire me in the first place. I wasn't smart enough/worth a stupid 26k yr IT job at a small private university as an admin but 2 yrs later I was making 129k a yr and now I make almost 400k w/ no employees.
College ilk can die on the street homeless as they would have left me all those years ago if they would have had it their way.
No pity for them and their loans. No pity at all. They would have left me to die if they had it their way. They can suck a big one.. If your not part of their club, too bad. Well let them for in their loan debt.
And well add the 55k (america- china is 250k /yr) that die in cars. It means your safer once you GET to work no matter what your work. All news reporting should mention this until we get a WAR on CAR terror!
Busted em. Most people don't know how many people die from lightning. Or on our roads every day. It dwarfs all other "death " news". At the end of each report on death they should say: And to put that in perspective x hundred will die from lightning this year and over 50k will die in cars ( in America 250k die per year in china) . We need a war or CAR TERROR.

Like how Nevada has great gambling and built their economy around that and ton this day no state has anything like the las Vegas strip.

Don't have much mercy when I read these kinds of stories. I went to a job interview back in 2000 for a 28,000 a year job. Knew 6 computer languages and significantly more than the interviewee and all this colleges employees. (in my opinion) this was a small college in Michigan. They never called me back. A few weeks later I started a small company. Today I make upwards of 250k a year. No college education. They (college people) can all go starving on the street like they would have left me and my two new born twins. No help from the "establishment" for me no matter how smart I was. Let em all lose their jib and starve.. Let em be in college debt. I smirk at the barrages who would have let me go homeless every time I read stories like this.
No quarter wad given to me. Now that theyre expected to oroduce. Now thier college means diddle it is my turn to watch from the sidelines.

Your mixing ip protection with software patents. Avatar is protected by copyright. Nobody disputes the need for that. Even hardware patents are often fine. To "patent" the idea that (and this is one of many examples" ) you can buy something with only "one click" is silly. There are probably patents on filling list boxes, ordering checkboxes in thee columns, goofy crap like that. This is why HN people (many of them programmers like me abhor software patents. )
Patenting a specific very complex algorithm -specifically- might be ok, but general ideas are not.
Wow. You hit the nail on the head. Now for the reality. Reality is that human death is ok as long as there is a value to society. Traveling quickly saves time and creates a huge value to people and the government. IE people make more money and pay more taxes than if there were no cars.
This is why speed limits went up awhile back. It's a balancing act. Human life is worth a certain amount to the government but isn't priceless. So, not only will they not ban cars, but not lower speed limits too much.
Imagine the lives saved if there were discriminators on cars that made it so they would not go over 55mph. Lives saved, yes, but productivity lost..
