I have been thinking about the same sort of things ...I know that Ca has not experienced this yet ....and lets pray it doesnt ...and for the Japanese people who are going through incredible tough times/
are these guys kidding ???for an idea??? did they ever get it off the ground at all???? can you copyright an idea???? they didnt use the same name ???same coding??? they should kiss his butt for being so generous with them ...and get on with their lives ...they are starting to get older and uglier too !!!
...absolutely...for some people the hardest thing to do is to fire people that dont fit with the culture....tow ideas....try your darndest to hire right ...not out of desperation
Second....if you are being honest with the person day in day out ...they know they are not fitting in ( if they dont change) and they practically will either leave on their own ...or when you start to bring it up ...they already know its coming ...makes it easier .
From all I have read ...YC founders are pretty focused on building their dream ...I dont think the money will get blown on foolishness...and I do think it will enable them to keep their minds on the most important things ...and not where do we get our next dime.
hard work is definitely part of the equation ...but I dont see it trumping being passionate about "the idea'.....you will never have the want ...to do the hard work ...if there is no passion...
