Lawyers in Germany are cheap (compared to US lawyers). Normally they charge a percentage of the value of stake which is quite small since its regulated by the law and not negotiated.
Also, in Germany, loser pays all, i.e. own lawyer, court costs, your lawyer.
I disagree: mental laziness is never a good justification.
(I recently started to memorize more things, since I do not believe in "just google it").
Also, I want to read what fellow humans relate. Even though it might sometimes be difficult to tell the difference, I attend HN as a substitute for physical social interactions.
For mere knowledge or problem solving, other places might fill that role.
From social media analysis we know that exposure creates anxiety and depression. Comparing yourself to others is the culprit.

I hate it equally. What good is knowledge if you cannot reach it. Google organizes something that is useless to me. And I will not enter the social media circus.
I am fascinated that someone went to Clojure for simplicity, because that is my way as well. I confess I do not spend enough time on learning, but I have come to enjoy solving little problems (like project Euler). It just takes too much time to get anything done that goes beyond basics. Conclusion: 1) Do not underestimate the simplicity of LISPs for teaching/learning 2) Enjoy the way (maybe there is nothing else out there but solving little problems)
I enjoy certain classics, exactly for the reason that the signal to noise ratio is high. Granted, they do not tell much about business and more about human nature, but from Hemingway to Diderot...
As an author still to be discovered I suggest JF Powers (morte d'Urban for example)
