I vibe coded an app and I'm kind of embarrassed how happy I am with the result and how much fun it was!
I'm a senior dev with 20+ years of experience. In my day job, I started to use Claude Code to carefully craft pull requests. Which works quite well in projects where I can point Claude to existing code like "do it similar to this feature" etc.
But this was different. It started when I needed to combine audio tracks from two versions of the same movie. I was putting together ffmpeg commands, manually figuring out sync offsets, and thought hm, let's vibe code a UI for that.
Three days later I have a full Electron app. Yes, Electron. I know. My RAM knows too. But I don't care! It was just soo much fun just thinking about the next little feature I need and want to do and how fast I could iterate. The feedback loop was addictive.
And it works, it solves my problem, and I actually finished a side project for once. Any one else having this experience?
It sounds like you know what you're talking about. Would you mind to take a look at my issue/question on the appengine django skeleton[1]. The Problems start after you've pointed your database to cloud sql und start using GAE specific features like task queue etc.
me too! for music there are good and paid consumer solutions. i like popcorn, because they are (at least i hope) pushing the movie industry into the right direction...
I don't know if fireing Vic Gundotra is helping, but I definitly agree with all the other points. How Google is trying to forcing us into G+ is just too much and annoying... And I think they harm themself with ranking pages better if they integrate G+...
I'm sorry, I forgot to write about this: We're allink.ch and we do a lot of Brand and Web Design/Development. ATM we create everything inhouse, from Design, over Frontend until backend (Django). But as I mentioned above, our Frontend guys are quit busy so we're looking for freenlancers/partners.
