This is a naive question but I've always wondered, what motivates people who distribute pirated content for free?
I get why someone would consume pirated content but why would someone take the risk of publishing pirated content? Is it the ad traffic that the publishers get?
Make it "punishable by up to 5% of global turnover over last three years" (kinda similar to GDPR) and stand back and see how quickly Google (I'm looking at you too Facebook, and Amazon) will change their shit show. India is at a position of strength wrt Google, Amazon, and Fb to easily force them to play nice. Now if only they realized it.
A little off track rant but the tax and health policies of USA are super freaking unbelievable. Why on Earth can one not be eligible for a HSA when they don't have a HDHP? The healthcare is screwed up. The least you could let people do is use their pre tax monies for the health treatments.
And don't even get me started on FSA and forfeiture. That's MY money. What the hell do you mean the amount is forfitted?

I mean, sure why the hell not. You could write/buy/subscribe to a strongly consistent distributed cloud kv store system to do the same more efficiently, but knock yourself out.
On one hand, I disapprove of this with the fear of India becoming all watching and dissent suppressing like China. On the other hand, India has a real national security need to know everything that goes on, thanks to its neighbor(s?).
On a parallel note of "foreign" technology companies, I believe we will see data sovereignty being a fundamental right/resource of nations (like natural resources) as a means to fairly redistribute internet technology generated wealth.
Is there a reason they don't run child exploitation detection ML engine (PhotoDNA) on the media they index? I'd guess they already run an ML engine to "describe" a image while they index it and this additional step shouldn't be too expensive?

FWIW, I'm appreciative of quite a number of 'bold' policies of the Chinese government dared to experiment with and implement. It's just that undisclosed affiliations bother me.
