Their long term (and short term) strategy is global corporate statism. They are doing very well at it by my measure. States will continue competing for western network share that Google controls. The only potential threats in America would be a radical left revolution. A strong labor opposition otherwise has no historical precedent in a comparable industry. And a global threat would have to be a violent war of empire, which is unlikely.
