I know a couple of websites which provide music on demand and they pull their data off of soundcloud. Seeing as how successful they are, they must have grabbed Soundcloud's attention. Yet, after all these years it seems no consequences occurred.
Although I am no authority to properly comment on the American police system; having never lived there. I think we should not boil it down to a black-white issue of police training. I definitely agree that training police should not be in the same fashion as military, I think this needs to be coupled with anti-gun laws, and proper education to ever see a true decline in police brutality.
After all, being confronted with an armed suspect, will lead to escalation, remove that game changer, and a properly trained police should be able to subdue them.
In my opinion it is not about doing nothing, it all boils down to the proportion of the reaction. An act of terrorism that kills hundreds of people, should not be reciprocated with an all out offensive on a whole region. Not only because that by itself is an act of terrorism; since most of the victims are usually innocent civilians, but because it cause the fear and anger that leads to the creation of these groups in the first place.
Just looking at history, you realize that all these groups labeled as terrorists, and I say labeled because many others go by under the radar, such as the KKK, all spawned from conflicted area where the political powers were sabotaging the stability. Either through corrupt governments or international mingling and occupation.
I completely agree with you. In terms of population alone, we are exceedingly multiplying; something that might not be of out best advantage. More even when you consider that there will be less opportunities for an increasing number of people, and we will lose this personal freedom you spoke of -to an extent-
I am also pro child limit laws. I would suggest nothing too strict, just impose a tax on the third child and up. We know from psychology that little restrictions and the mere fact of a 'cost' would reduce the intrinsic desire of people to even take an action, in this case child bearing.
Furthermore, I think a tax is a not an extreme measure, considering the fact that you would still be allowed to have children if you want. But do keep in mind that the poorest, less educated are often the ones to have plenty of children, which ends up harming the family, this might be good for them.
Correct me if I am wrong, but while your argument might have some legitimacy, in this particular case it sounds as if you believe that rape is actually something culturally acceptable in these parts of the world. It is not, and FYI, Islam forbids 1- homosexuality, 2- rape. This phenomena SHOULD be fought against -because it is wrong, and the child is being abused here- especially by the people who are there to spread 'democracy and progressiveness' in the first place ;)
