I always liked Waze but I don't like Google. I've been blocking as many Google domains as possible but still kept some unblocked just to use Waze (and YouTube). Google changed something, Waze stopped working, I switched to Apple Maps. No regrets.
There are a more than a handful good and active German subreddits. Especially finance-related one like r/finanzen (113,151 readers) and r/mauerstrassenwetten (109,592), or subreddits like r/de (480,614), r/600eur (33,871), and r/germanrap (22,459 readers).
But I agree with you and personally spend most of my time on reddit on international subs. But it doesn't make sense for a German to spend much time on r/personalfinance for example because it's too US-centric. That's where r/finanzen (and r/mauerstrassenwetten (like r/wallstreetbets)) is the better place.
Reddit launched an International Ambassador Program a few months ago[1] and they are paying German power users 20 EUR per hour to create German niche subreddits + 250 EUR bonus for each launched subreddit[2]
I’ve always been a pretty good sleeper. I’ve been going to bed at 22:00, fell asleep at 22:05, and woke up at 5:45 after sleeping like a rock.
When my gf and I moved together, this changed.
I still tried to go to bed at 22:00 but sometimes it was an hour later or so. My gf goes to bed between 23:00 and 00:00, which always woke me up. She also needed to go to the toilet once at night, which woke me up again.
But to be fair, when I got up in the morning she was waking up too because she could hear me showering.
When she was working a few hundred kilometres away for a month I noticed how much better my sleep was. That’s when I bought a second bed and moved to our guest room on work-days. Well, sometimes we want to cuddle and fall asleep together, but I’d say 9/10 work-days we’re sleeping in separate beds and it’s g r e a t.
Interesting! Just today I thought about learning french or spanish with Duolingo. I started with spanish because it seems to be easier to learn. The article was really inspiring tbh, now I really want to stick to it for a year or so.
You could’ve always copied the URL and just opened Apollo. The app detects the Reddit-Link ask you if you want to open the URL inside Apollo. But I’m using Opener too, it’s a great app not only for Reddit links.
They probably wouldn’t because it’s too specific. I’m in Germany and figured I’d just connect to one of the currently most used VPN Servers in New Zealand. Makes my connection slow when I can’t procrastinate or want to reduce screen time without actually blocking apps by enabling iOS Screen Time.
