Wow, this is really amazing! And really cool idea and experience to just put on TV at home and chill.
But I always wanted to just get into the mood of Paris or NY or Havana or Tokyo when I hop on bicycle or motorcycle. And would love if You had a version with just stations and list of cities like this.
"I did the calculation how many coins we needed to become the richest person on the planet," Igor says. "I said to Andreea, 'We need to build it up to 100 million coins, because when this coin goes to €100 and we have 100 million, we are richer than Bill Gates.' It's mathematic. It's easy as that."
Great math-guy.. wonder where he got info on Gates wealth.
Big fan of skittles - never crossed my mind. Very cool! Perhaps try different kinds as another follow up? Machine learning and openCV can do the trick for counting without sorting.
Applied for BI position, unpacked properly and got the file with infamous msg, figured out contact from image data but upon communicating results never got any reply from Mystical machine. Nonetheless, interesting challenge.
Is it a trick or smth is off with registration/submitting page as it constantly gives "No internet connection! Please establish a connection to the Internet in order to continue working."? :)
Sounds interesting, I'd be happy to pitch in % or maybe even keep the stock if possible. Let me know what do You think. I never did it before though I trade and if its a good option, Id help You help me.
Also there are MtGox debt buyers, google them, they might be into Your stuff as well.
I have MacBook Pro and I hate it for the weight. Its older model and I switched HD, removed optical drive etc.. but its just too heavy. Forget about it. Always get lighter if You can but make sure You can upgrade RAM.
Its bound to be extremely hard because though quants code and there should be many similarities with soft dev - its a different beast. Many scientist make the switch and run major firms, but someone like a front-dev making switch, would be interesting to see. More likely to be smth outside of soft dev role that got him in.
Quant crowd hangs on NuclearPhynance forum, but for what You are asking WallStreetOasis is the place.
But..
1. Not really PhD, but You have to learn math somewhere.
2. Start trading crypto Yourself.. there are so many exchanges giving You direct access for free.. fetch a market feed, reconstruct limit order book in real time, backtest some strategies, do deep learning models. They do the same.
3. You have to be lucky, just like anywhere. There are lots of unsatisfied people in tech though it pays more than ever.
4. No idea.
5. Two years or so, but previous roles were quantitative.
I am trying to make transition myself, let me know if You need more info..
I've used rJags for R programming language which is quite old and based on Jags for windows but is quite straight forward though Edward, Stan and pymc3 seem to be state of art.
My project is quite simple but You can check it via homepage[0] or directly[1]
Thanks for input, but do You mind being a bit more specific about the following:
- would You actually be interested to buy this service?
- what sort of visualizations do You actually make? Do they need to be interactive? SVG? Size? How do You use them?
- what exactly do You do with data before its plotted except selecting columns? Is there aggregation or any kind of processing?
- how often is this actually used because You say 'sometimes every few months', does it mean its like a quarterly report?
- what other well established tools have You used other than Excel?
- how big is Your largest data? Size, rows, columns
- if it applies with small amount of megabytes, is there a reason beside simplicity why You can't use PivotChart in Excel? Or Excel in general? Or R/Python to generate it?
I am data scientist who regularly plots quite large data sets, and I like speed :) Its totally doable to build a service that You can run locally, load a CSV, read like 1% of data, play with it.. when you get what You want, load rest and wait a bit and get the visualization You want.
But depending on visualization requirements there may be many paths solutions.
Hi I like You approach, would like to volunteer and help as much as I can for You to reach MVP and validate France as a market. I am also big believer in execution over idea hence think its great approach, especially that You already got beta testers.
I work on regular job that is very data driven in a large financial corporation, but I want to learn from startups and see if I am good fit so can work afternoons and nights, located in SE Europe. On daily basis I run and govern portfolio north of ~300MEUR, not that much on global scale, but in my country its a lot.
I am proficient in unix/R/SQL/dbases while got some knowledge on JS/HTML/CSS (node, meteor, jekyll) and Ive also read the books You mentioned. I do social marketing and growth hacking as personal project for couple of friends in hospitality business.
So I may be of help with any sort of data, biz dev/ operations, finance/accounting and social media. Can bootstrap and run a website, but do not expect anything extraordinary as its only for MVP level.
Pressure is normal, and I create value in given time, so some things may not be perfect, but I get things done.
Maybe we could just discuss it for 15min? And go from there.
But I always wanted to just get into the mood of Paris or NY or Havana or Tokyo when I hop on bicycle or motorcycle. And would love if You had a version with just stations and list of cities like this.
