The 1st person face is a bit shocking, and he does seem a bit naive at some points, but from that to call Scotty Allen "shallow and fantastically douchey asshole" is totally uncalled for.
What? They were not arresting him as far as it has been shown. Resisting arrest is a grave crime AFAIK, so don't mix terms (or don't complain of other people mixing things!).

When the original case surfaced I was wondering the same. If they had (real) evidence that your encrypted hard drives have CP, then I'd be okay putting you in jail (;
However, if that was the case then they wouldn't need to decrypt the drives, so this whole case smells quite a bit.
AFAIK there is a similar situation in the airport immigration; if you are an US citizen and don't want to provide a password for an encrypted device, they'll make you have a bad time, then throw the device and then let you in. Same for foreigners except with a flight back instead of letting them in. The bad time they give you basically depends on the immigration officer.
We were encouraged by our boss to look up the new hires (international women doing an internship for free) on Facebook and other social networks to see if they were hot before hiring them and we did have veto decision based on looks. Later my boss wasn't so happy that I didn't show my excitement about this even though I'm a straight young male (my other coworker wasn't so happy as well).
It was my first job, then something similar happened in my second job, but there I told my bosses that it'd be better idea to hire someone based on their knowledge and not on looks. I got scolded but stood my ground on this (even though in this job my coworkers were supportive on only hiring hot women). Now I've decided never to work again in this shitty country and I'm a freelancer earning 10x more money.
