It actually has some decent products and it sort of made sense to group them into a brand. I like what they're doing with Win8 though.
I do find it funny that Microsoft is backtracking though. Windows Vista shipped with all these windows live apps and then Windows 7 removed them from the OS and made them an optional download through "Windows Live Essentials". This was meant to "un-bloat" the operating system. Now it seems Microsoft wants to take away the Live branding and bundle them with the OS again.

For ARM yes - though with the exception of Office. Office will work on ARM in legacy view.
You can get Win8 on an x86 tablet and run anything you want in legacy mode.
As an aside, your android and ipad tablets won't be able to run your legacy apps either. So all things being equal on that front I'm not sure why you'd immediately ditch Win8 over Android or iPad. Personally I think Android would be the first one to go. Can't stand those tablets.
This is almost word for word how intern mentorship works at Microsoft. Except usually "mentors" are referred to as "coaches" but they seemingly serve exactly the same purpose.

Yeah I think I'll pass. SkyDrive gives me 25GB and their "access any file on your computer (even those outside of your skydrive folder) from skydrive.com" feature is amazing.
Plus like someone else already mentioned, having GDrive download hyperlinks is subpar imo. I'd rather get the doc or xls back, edit it on a client, and have it re-upload and convert to gdoc format.

I really don't see a reason why anyone should use GDrive over SkyDrive unless they were a heavy gdocs user.
Uh, they have a dropbox-like client coming out soon. Also, I far prefer their web interface to dropbox's. I see no reason to continue using dropbox once skydrive client comes out.
