Summary: The Author's contention is that Apple will abandon support for it's existing lineup sooner rather than later based on the history of it's prior platform transition to intel. So, why bother buying a Mac now when it's going to be abandoned sooner rather than later.
I don't want to give anyone my real account info which is why I rarely set up auto pay on anything. If you had a feature where we could generate multiple virtual bank account numbers (ACH ready) that could be linked to 3rd parties AND be revoked at will on your site - that would be something I would pay for. Can you imagine what a company like Comcast would do with your account info when you try to quit them? They'd probably bill you forever and then force you to ask for a refund every month. BUT with a virtual account number you can put the power back in your own hands.
The virtual accounts as they are offered now don't really offer me any benefits.
Remember when drive makers were constantly looking to one-up each other on reliability? Those were the good 'ole days. Bad press for consistently losing users' data back then could put them out of business. Now they're so big that even uber amounts of bad press and deliberately shipping inferior products can't do that - they'll pay a few million dollars in fines and go right back to doing what they were doing.
I think open plan offices started to become a thing in the late 90's just before the first dotcom crash. At least that was the first time I encountered the concept codified into a formal term that everyone was throwing around. That, and "management by walking around" (which i think was the pre-cursor to "stand up meetings".) Anyway, I hated the open-office concept then and I still hate it now. Its noisy, distracting, invasive...it really made me miss cubicles. I can't believe it took a worldwide pandemic to get people to reconsider them...
When the US allowed commercial activity seems like they forgot to make a carve-out set of rules for non-profits. Are the .edu domain restrictions set by laws established back then or by ICANN and can therefore theoretically be changed without any input by governments?
