a) it's fine for them to lie about square feet, because they will magically stop lying.
b) it is a good use of your resources to have to re-measure every room to be sure it matches the floorplans, and it's economically superior to force everybody to remeasure everything than to just tell RE agents that they can't lie.

I've been using Quickbooks Online since the days where it was IE only. It's a real accounting package that's been improving quickly, and that my accountants can use without issue.
Product doesn't trump all. It's the exception, not the rule, that the best product wins the war.
Besides... what is the best product? Is it the most featureful? The simplest? The fastest? The cheapest? The most usable? The most beautiful? The most enviable? The most emotionally satisfying?
And even if you know what's best... if people aren't aware of it's existence, or if there are other barriers to them trying it, they might well never accept it.
I used to think like you. Then I made some great products.
