Nope, that doesn't make any sense. Keep the shops open now and infection grows exponentially. Overwhelm the ICU capacity = MORE people will die. MORE people dead = less consumption = less people paying rent, etc.
Unlike all other times before, our economy is over-leveraged like never seen before. The COVID-19 shut down of main street mom-and-pop stores will trigger a snowball effect onto wall street. However, cutting rates to zero and Trump throwing his last cards in will only kick up a temporary fix. In reality it is adding more fuel to the fire by further extending the leveraging, and thereby, volatility of the market, until this all crash into a giant complete free fall.
So disappointing. I really wanted to think he was just misquoted. But the attempt to cover up after-the-fact just made it worse -- "Hey, ladies, don't ask for a raise coz you should trust the system. But oh, btw, the system is broken, we should fix it." Either the system is working or not. Make up your mind before asking ppl to trust it.
Agreed, but I'd argue that striving for perfection in every detail is a bit of first world problem, and it also assumes availability of infinite resources. Starve a man for enough days, then give him a steak on a stick and I'll guarantee that he'll be happy just to tear the meat apart with his teeth caveman style, forget the formalities of napkin, plate and utensils. Same goes for software, esp. startups, where the first challenge is to get to having something that will do a right job however imperfectly, than the wrong job, however perfectly.
Awesome to see crowd funding getting leveraged for such great potential. The team's been at this for a while and making good progress. Great to see the new name!
It's convenient to just blame LinkedIn for a friendship you evidently didn't have to start with. Nothing stops you from writing an email to the person first or immediately after you hit the "connect" button. Don't blame your own laziness on a tool.
As the non-tech person on the team, the greatest value I see is how fast it got us up and running. it was like a dream come true when jaigouk showed off how we can see live transactions appear in real time on our dashboard, making tracking activities a breeze, above all, it make proactively predicting when we should reach out to our users possible, which helped a lot in helping some of our users along in their transaction.
I don't think taste conflicts with problem solving skills. They can coexist - because design is choosing which solution to apply to a problem, and the choice reflects your taste / stylist preference. Rarely is there only one answer to a problem. Agreement in taste is important else it will be hard for you and your designer to move any design decision forward to implementation.
Yes, good design is how it works. We aren't against skeuomorphism and don't think flat is opposite of it either. In fact there can even be flat skeumorphism. I think Layervault's post on flat interface design, and Sacha Grief's flat pixels post are the best out there to read up on what IS flat design. Or Almost flat design. http://layervault.tumblr.com/post/32267022219/flat-interface...http://sachagreif.com/flat-pixels/
VCs might not need this (yet). But I can see this selling like hotcake to the impending ballooning new group investors in the startups scene enabled by the ranks of wefunder.com, fundersclub.com, etc. Go Danielle and team!
The image based collections threw me at first - I like textual information in lists, not tiles. But then I saw the phone pad like icon (top right hand corner). Tiles for image collections and lists for articles - w00t! :D
Good points. With the abundance of services like Wufoo forms, Shopify, Weebly, and other "make your stuff without code" products out there, it is easier now than ever before to pull together a MVP, even if it means to take care of things behind the scenes manually. See how nastygal.com made it big with a humble start from an ebay store. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/25/technology/nasty-gal-an-on...
