Thanks for the OpenCart suggestion. Would you mind if I asked a few questions?
What kinds of services did you ultimately tie into it? Did it hook into stripe, paypal, or another third-party payment provider? Did you incorporate it into any kind of marketing or analytics pipeline?
I'm not much of a PHP dev (stronger in Node and Python), but it would really help for showing me what to look for. I'm definitely interested in something relatively out-of-the-box, I just want something I could dive into more than a WP plugin.

The rule of law as a principle has utility in political philosophy, but saying there can be no exception is arguing for a complete embrace of authoritarianism. And if there's no way for laws to be challenged, then all civil disobedience is illegitimate.
I like Hobbes as much as the next guy, but as a society we seem to have moved beyond his idea that the government can do whatever it wants to sustain itself, because it's better than no government.
This is not a personal attack, but this argument often infuriates me, because it's similar to people arguing that MLK was a troublemaker, and that the civil rights movement was just "agitators" who refused to play by the rules, even though the game was rigged to destroy them.
Why can't people just always obey authority, no matter how wrong, destructive, inhuman, or immoral it may be, amirite?
If you think this is misplaced, that they should just 'buckle down and work,' that silicon valley is a meritocracy or near enough and that the overwhelming number of people there (including, of course, you) deserve to be there because they are smarter and better than 'non-technical people who could have what you have if only the just tried...
Then maybe you should strongly consider that you are part of the problem.
