It gives you a history of how batch processing started with MapReduce, and how attempts at scaling by moving towards streaming systems gave us all the subsequent frameworks (Spark, Beam, etc.).
As for the framework called MapReduce, it isn't used much, but its descendant https://beam.apache.org very much is. Nowadays people often use "map reduce" as a shorthand for whatever batch processing system they're building on top of.

I don't understand this point, and it's one we see very often. What would have happened if they'd been civilised?
1. We had a convention citoyenne pour le climat. Macron then mostly ignored it.
2. We have elected representatives who can vote on the laws for us. Macron then used article 49.3 to mostly ignore them.
3. Vote? For which candidate? None of them would cover all of the GJs' demands.
If you disqualify protests as a valid form of democratic expression, you also disqualify our famous revolution, the feminist protests that earned women the right to vote, the union strikes that earned us many worker rights, etc.

Unlike the people in this comic, I'm actually making a point, which you seem to have missed: community, by necessity, doesn't work with absolute freedom. What matters is what we agree to compromise over and why we do so.
You're posting this on HN, a platform that has moderators and doesn't allow certain things to be said. So you implicitly agree that there is a trade-off between free speech and ability to live in a community.
Historically, I don't think we've made much progress in terms of pro-worker labor laws without said workers first having to get together to create bargaining power. By default the power is in the hands of the ruling class, and they have no interest in handing out paid holidays, reasonable working hours, or sick leave.
I wish we could get some info from an expert on that topic, as a French person some of my friends said they were surprised how much help they got from the government (grants, tax rebates, etc.) and they ended up doing all their software development in France, while the hardware was built in China, because they found the dev quality/cost ratio was so good.
There's also money you can get for creating a startup if you volunteer when your company does a round of layoffs for example.
What's the use about a study on _correlation_ between these two things? You could also have a study on correlation between IQ and poverty, IQ and access to education...

If a company has recurring troubleshooting issues, eg. "we need to know which process is taking all the CPU/RAM/IO", why wouldn't they add a script when they provision their machines with puppet or whatever tool they use?
Then instead of having to remember how to check all these things, they just run "find_resource_hogs.sh" and voila. It also enables other people to troubleshoot without specific knowledge.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "socialism". France is a very socialist country (esp. compared to the US of A), yet we are nothing like the USSR. Same goes for many EU countries. Aren't you talking about oligarchies rather than socialist regimes? The fact that some oligarchies were born under the pretense of socialism doesn't mean socialism was the cause.
