I bought a 3 legged camping stool which I thought would be portable and good for sitting against a tree, but unfortunately it gave me pins and needles after about 20 minutes.
The article description is "A deep dive on why projects always overrun and a framework to improve future estimation"
This was a personal investigation into my faulty estimation skills, off the back of a small project which became a medium project, which became a large project with no shortage of surprises, overruns and pain.
The blog post was born from an honest and thorough postmortem where it turns out most of the work was simply not expected – and so wasn't accounted for.
I then went a stage further and attempted to outline more general reasons for this and to visualise how might look in terns of time and effort. It's not meant to be scientific, but is certainly an interesting way to look at things.
I recently shed 10kg/1.5st following a three-month Keto + Intermittent Fasting routine.
Whilst the weight loss was great, even more exciting were the hidden benefits:
- increased discipline
- better daily routine
- getting my evenings back
- going to bed and getting up earlier
- regaining my love for cooking
- understanding nutrition
If you're interested, here's everything I researched, learned and reflected on in one big blog post, including:
- how to plan for keto
- what books to buy and websites to visit
- how to plan, shop and cook 3 meals a day
- spreadsheets with macros and meal plans
- what to expect during the process
- how to manage it around the rest of your life
- how to enjoy it and what to do when you don't
Plenty more as well; hopefully it's useful if you've been considering one or both regimes.
Nuxt Content Assets is a Nuxt 3 module that lets you store assets next to your content then reference with relative paths (both in markup and frontmatter) then serve the lot with zero configuration.
This makes it simpler to manage content and assets as individual units, rather than having to juggle separate content and assets folders.
I've just released the 1.0 version of Vuex Pathify.
Pathify provides a declarative, state-based, path interface to your Vuex store.
What that means in English, is that you access store properties by path, and only by path. The plugin simplifies Vuex's API from 4 operations, 4 helpers, 3 accessor syntaxes and 3 or 4 naming formats to just 3 methods and a single path format.
Aside from the docs link above, there's a bunch of CodeSandbox demos so you can jump in and work with real code straight away:
Agreed about the amount of space used up when the blocks are closed, but once you've clicked a few to view the internal code, it's not such a big deal.
Perhaps someone else would like to take up the challenge of make the jQuery code navigable by treemap!?

Shame, as it was fine up until that point.
