At my Big Corp (tm) we just let someone go because he offered a service to coach vendors on 1) How to get on our supplier list and 2) our internal criteria for vendor selection. He also charged for the service and as IT Ops head had a great deal of say over how this worked internally.
Lost access to my business on Google infra / services after leaving a positive review on a bakery while on holiday to Paris - for "violating Google Maps policy".
I went on holiday to Paris over two years ago and reviewed a number of places on Google Maps while there. I had a lovely experience and never left a negative review or did anything unusual on Google Maps.
I received an email a day after I got back home from Google saying one of my recent five-star reviews reviews had violated Google Maps policy. My account was disabled and I nearly had a heart attack when I lost access to Google Cloud Platform. I couldn't find a way to find out more or dispute it and ended up moving my business to AWS.

We had a database growing by around 200GB of relevant data per month. While I'm not a fan of Oracle having worked there long ago, that database was unbelievably fast. They moved to MySQL years later and it required a much much bigger tin after being heavily optimized.

I have quite the adblocking setup for my network and browser. Every now and then I get a glimpse of what the bulk of humanity has to endure on websites. I can't believe the difference. Those of us who enjoy an ad free Internet experience a completely different Internet lifestyle.
Not only tiny on disk (startup time, pulling etc) but also tiny memory footprint. I'm comparing to a Java Spring app and Golang is absurdly light on memory.
Quotas have been a disaster in my country. Instead of hiring the best people so that we can compete better we've had to optimize for this variable q and often those seats have been kept empty as we haven't found that special person.

I've had to do the same with suppliers and software vendors.
A quick one-on-one with the "tech person" has often been far more informative & accurate than anything I've heard from the execs or senior managers.
