Setup servers in a virtualized network at home and try to build a "mini-internet". Setup fake companies with internal and external resources. Web servers, email, DNS, DHCP, routing, etc.
I tried to bring my 95' Camry with broken door handles, windows that don't go down, oil leak, and no paint on the hood to rent with FlightCar ... but it didn't qualify. Not surprisingly, they have quality standards :-p
I guess the point people are trying to make is that an e-reader weighs the same or less than a book but books don't have to be put away during takeoff or landing.
But I do agree, airport security hassles are more annoying these days than being told to turn off your cell phone for 15 minutes.
